“Stories From The Tower Of London” – Anthony Strafford

Our traditional Christmas joint meeting with the Wickham Society on 12th December was great fun with Anthony Strafford in full Beefeater regalia. Anthony served and lived in the Tower of London and gave us some splendid stories of famous women who had had the misfortune, deserved or underserved, to end up there. He also had a wealth of anecdotes about day-to-day life in the Tower and the challenges of wearing the uniform and living in a castle. The 71 people, who attended, 56 members and visitors had a host of questions to ask Anthony, and he kindly stayed on during the Christmas fizz and mince pies to chat to members.
