Barrie Marson

Barrie, who passed away in early January, was well known to many as Secretary of the Society for many years. Fewer people knew of his major contributions to the Society and Wickham through his work cataloguing and promoting the Stan Woodford photo collection, organising and paying for the publication of an indexed version of Bruce Tappenden’s History of Wickham and the creation of the Local History display in Chesapeake Mill. He will be greatly missed and the Society has made a donation to the Woodland Trust, Barrie’s chosen charity, to reflect our gratitude for his contribution to the Society and the village.
