Guided walks for Wickham Parishioners and Visitors are conducted commencing 7.00 pm, weather permitting, during the Summer months. Joiners should be aware that the walk involves some country tracks and some steps. They should also be very alert to busy road traffic. The walks take approximately 1 1/2 hours. There is a fee of £2 per head, (Wickham History Society Members free). Parties muster by the bus stop at the end of Wickham Square. Book your place by going to CONTACT US – click HERE.
Please note: The programme for 2017 will be published soon.
Self-Guided Walks Around Wickham Village Centre:
Please note that there is no public access to the private properties detailed in the guides.
Some historic buildings in Wickham can be positively dated, (e.g., The Bugle Inn, Blanton, The Old House, Havelock and Wentworth). For the rest, dates are arrived at on stylistic evidence, in the main, and so must remain approximate for the time being.
A handy, pocket size Guide Book is available from the Society. To learn more about these, go to our RESOURCES page – click HERE.
